History Book Project

Go Down in Cap and Gown History!

The first 60 years of Cap history have been recorded in a treasured volume covering the years from 1890-1950. Sixty years later, it’s time to update the History of Cap and Gown. We are embarking on an ambitious project to republish our first 60-year history and add a second volume for the years 1950 to the present.

This is your chance to have your memories recorded for posterity. Please volunteer to help with this great undertaking. We need Cap alums to help write articles, collect photos, and send in their best and most memorable stories from their years at Cap and Gown.

Sophie Harkins, Class of 2015 and a rising junior in Cap, is working as an intern to help us launch the project.  Please share your memories and help us get started by emailing her at capandgownhistory@gmail.com to volunteer to help out with your class’s section or with a special section.  We are hoping to create an 800-1200 word entry for each class by December 1st and would like to involve as many alums as possible.  Information on how to submit articles and photos can be downloaded here.

Below you will find drafts of sample sections from the classes of 1969 and 2000.  Please take a look and let us know what you think! Select an image to see a full-size pdf of the sample pages.

We can’t wait to hear from you!
