Bill Powers ’79 and Katie Hall ’80 hosted an amazing party for all Cap members on Saturday to celebrate the inauguration of the Powers-Hall Tap Room.
The day began with a tailgate behind the club on a perfect day. Princeton hosted Dartmouth for the final game of the season, and although they didn’t win this one, they won the big 3 this year, beating Harvard and Yale to earn a Bonfire on Cannon Green.
After the game we had a celebration in the taproom with a very special wine bar with fine selections provided by the Corkscrew in Princeton; then an exceptional buffet dinner with station themes – the “Marshall Plan” (for met and potatoes), the “Athenian” for Greek entrees, the “Annex” for Italian – and lots more.
At 7pm everyone headed to the Bonfire on Cannon Green.
Back at Cap afterwards, we had some celebratory remarks and toasts with champagne and dessert.
And last, but not least, “capping” off the evening in the Tap Room where undergrads and alums shared in some memorable activities!
The fun, love, and energy in the building was over the top. We thank Bill and Katie for hosting an incredible party that reflects how much we all enjoy being together with our Cap friends!
This weekend was also a VERY special weekend for Princeton Field Hockey winning the first ever NCAA championship in field hockey for ANY Ivy League team. Read about it in the Daily Princetonian.
